Chapter Vertical

Youth Leadership & Development.

The chapter’s next generation — given real responsibility now, not a seat reserved for later.

Responsibility now

Youth Leadership & Development.

A youth wing that only attends events is a waiting room. This council gives young members work that matters and the authority to do it.

The Youth Leadership & Development Council is the chapter’s standing body for members under thirty-five. It holds real chapter responsibilities — events, digital presence, campus outreach, volunteering — and is the route by which young members move into full chapter office. It also runs the sports, cultural and campus programmes that keep the next generation attached to the federation at all.

What this vertical does

Six areas of work.

01

Chapter responsibility

Young members owning real portfolios, not observer seats.

02

Campus presence

IBF student circles in universities where members are concentrated.

03

Career launch

Internships, first jobs and referrals into member-led organisations.

04

Sports & culture

Tournaments, cultural nights and the events that actually bring people out.

05

Volunteering

Youth-run seva, relief and community projects across chapters.

06

Roots & identity

Serious, unembarrassed engagement with tradition on the terms of the young.

How a vertical runs

The same structure in every chapter.

Verticals are departments of the federation, not features of a membership. No member pays to belong to one: every member of a chapter may join any vertical whose work they can contribute to.

STEP 1Council

Every chapter constitutes the vertical as a standing council with its own convenor and members.

STEP 2Charter

The council agrees a yearly charter — what it will run, for whom, and how it will be judged.

STEP 3Programme

It runs its own calendar of sessions, clinics, camps and referrals through the year.

STEP 4Account

It reports to the chapter and to the federation, so the work is visible and comparable.

Who this is for

You belong here if you are …

  • Members under thirty-five in every chapter
  • College and university students
  • Early-career professionals
  • Young volunteers and organisers
  • Members mentoring the next generation

Join the Youth Leadership & Development vertical in your chapter.

Membership of the federation comes first — the verticals then open to you at no additional cost. Tell your chapter which vertical you want to serve in.
