Preparing and placing women in chapter and federation office.
Chapter Vertical
Formerly the Women’s Council — a standing council in every chapter, with its own leadership, budget and programme.
Her own council
This council was announced as the Women’s Council and is now constituted under its full name. It is a department of the federation, not an option attached to a membership.
The Women Leadership & Empowerment Council exists in every IBF chapter with its own elected leadership, its own budget line and its own calendar. It builds women into chapter and federation leadership, supports women-run enterprises, runs skilling and financial-independence programmes, and provides a safe, confidential channel for members who need one.
What this vertical does
Preparing and placing women in chapter and federation office.
Capital, customers and mentorship for businesses run by women members.
Training and placement, including for women returning after a career break.
Practical literacy in savings, credit, investment and property rights.
A private, trusted channel to counsel, legal aid and chapter support.
Scholarships and mentorship for girls in member families.
How a vertical runs
Verticals are departments of the federation, not features of a membership. No member pays to belong to one: every member of a chapter may join any vertical whose work they can contribute to.
Every chapter constitutes the vertical as a standing council with its own convenor and members.
The council agrees a yearly charter — what it will run, for whom, and how it will be judged.
It runs its own calendar of sessions, clinics, camps and referrals through the year.
It reports to the chapter and to the federation, so the work is visible and comparable.
Who this is for
Membership of the federation comes first — the verticals then open to you at no additional cost. Tell your chapter which vertical you want to serve in.
