Chapter Vertical

Education, Research & Skill Development.

Teachers, scholars and trainers — the vertical that turns the community’s oldest vocation into present-day opportunity.

The oldest vocation

Education, Research & Skill Development.

Teaching is the vocation the community has held longest. This council keeps it a living practice rather than a remembered one.

The Education, Research & Skill Development Council brings together school and university teachers, principals, academic researchers, tutors, counsellors and vocational trainers. It works alongside the federation’s Education & Careers programme, but at chapter level: identifying students who need help, finding the people who can give it, and running the skilling that turns a degree into employment.

What this vertical does

Six areas of work.

01

Scholarship identification

Finding the students in a chapter who genuinely need support, and vouching for them.

02

Academic mentorship

Subject guidance, competitive-exam coaching and admissions counselling.

03

Vocational skilling

Short, employable skills for members who are not on a degree track.

04

Sanskrit & shastra study

Serious study circles for the classical disciplines, taught by qualified scholars.

05

Institution building

Members who run schools and colleges sharing governance and academic practice.

06

Research collaboration

Cross-chapter academic work, publication support and conference participation.

How a vertical runs

The same structure in every chapter.

Verticals are departments of the federation, not features of a membership. No member pays to belong to one: every member of a chapter may join any vertical whose work they can contribute to.

STEP 1Council

Every chapter constitutes the vertical as a standing council with its own convenor and members.

STEP 2Charter

The council agrees a yearly charter — what it will run, for whom, and how it will be judged.

STEP 3Programme

It runs its own calendar of sessions, clinics, camps and referrals through the year.

STEP 4Account

It reports to the chapter and to the federation, so the work is visible and comparable.
